Name change to ‘Solutions for Public Health’

From 12th November 2009 Supporting Public Health will be known as ‘Solutions for Public Health’.

As part of this name change we have combined our current units - Public Health Resource Unit (PHRU), Oxford Cancer Intelligence Unit (OCIU), South East Public Health Observatory (SEPHO) and the National Obesity Observatory (NOO) - into one new, unified organisation. This is in response to a steady expansion of the services we are being commissioned to deliver and will enable us to provide more comprehensive, end-to-end services that deliver greater value for money.

Our vision and focus remain the same; we will continue to support decision makers and practitioners to improve population health in all our key capability areas of public health development, health intelligence, commissioning support, provider support and screening.

For a short period the Public Health Resource Unit website will continue while content is migrated to a new Solutions for Public Health website in the New Year.

Solutions for Public Health will continue to be hosted by Milton Keynes Primary Care Trust and will remain located at 4150 Chancellor Court, Oxford Business Park South, Cowley, Oxford. _______________________________________________________________________________________12.11.09

Public Health Online Resource for Careers, Skills and Training (PHORCaST)

The first 'one stop shop' for UK-wide information on careers and development in public health and health and wellbeing, will be formerly launched at the UKPHA Conference at Brighton on 24th/25th March 2010 and will be going live from 24th March.
