A new national public health online resource for careers, skills and training (PHORCaST) is being developed. The purpose is to provide an online resource to aid the recruitment, retention and career development of a high calibre public health workforce at all levels. It will offer one place for individuals or organisations to go to find information on careers in public health, roles, routes, qualifications, education and development. PHORCaST is a UK wide initiative, funded by all four UK governments.
The guidance uses the Public Health Skills and Career Framework competences as the basis for identifying the skills and knowledge needed for particular job types. Users of PHORCaST will also be able to access information o courses to provide the training needed to develop or update competences.
